Transforming your school's reading culture (TSRC)
The TSRC programme is a sustained, research based CPD programme aimed at primary English/ Reading Leads, in schools who are already secure in their phonics provision. During the course of the programme participants will engage deeply with reading for pleasure pedagogy and leadership theory to transform their school’s reading culture.
Participants will attend all five sessions and complete gap tasks in between sessions. Those who commit will be expected to attend all sessions. Headteachers are invited and encouraged to attend session 1 and 5 as part of their commitment to the training. All sessions are free of charge and will be held at Lacey Green Conference Centre.
Programme aims:
Understand the research underpinning Reading for Pleasure (RfP) practice and pedagogy
Widen knowledge of children’s literature
Transform whole school reading culture in your school
Develop the leadership skills to initiate and sustain change
Become advocates for RfP and share experiences and best practice
PLEASE NOTE - All delegates will be expected to attend all sessions. It is essential you have your head teachers support before signing onto this programme and ensure you can be released from school, and have the capacity to attend for ALL SESSIONS.
